Our RULES

Version 5 | Last updated 03/28/2024

The Heart of Moscow (HOM) rules are not static. While we will do our best to write rules that ensure a consistent and consistently fun gameplay experience, the fact of the matter is that the rules are subject to change as the community grows and evolves. We will notify players via a discord announcement of any changes, so not being aware of a recent rules update is not an excuse to break the rules. We recommend taking a frequent look at them in order to refresh yourself, as well as note any changes. Searching for any loopholes in this ruleset in order to utilize them in a malicious manner is prohibited.

The terms out-of-character (OOC) and in-character (IC) are used throughout our rules to differentiate between real life information and content outside the game (OOC), and content and information perceived from the point-of-view of your character within the game (IC).

1 - Community Guidelines
2 - Fair Play
3 - Roleplay
4 - Hostilities
5 - Factions
6 - The Frontline
7 - Permanent Deaths & Executions
8 - Warning Points & Punishments Guide
Community guidelines apply to any and all services we (Heart of Moscow) provide for our community (unless stated otherwise), but do not apply to IC situations and events. HoM services include, but are not limited to: our game servers, Discord servers, Steam groups, and any other places of official congregation for HoM community members (such as on personal livestreams).

1.1 - Due to the mature content and themes displayed within HoM services, HoM requires its users to be, at minimum, 15 years old.

1.2 - All users must have only one discord account, and only one Steam account used on our server. The creation of alternate accounts in order to evade bans applied to your account will lead only to lengthier bans, and/or the removal of your right to appeal your ban(s).

1.3 - We require our members to be polite and mature, and treat each other with respect at all times. It is therefore forbidden to:

1.3.1 - Flame, flamebait, or participate in the flaming of our members.

1.3.2 - Discriminate against another member, especially regarding their race, nationality, sexuality, gender, age, political views, or disability.

1.3.3 - Use racial, sexist, homophobic, or otherwise markedly offensive or taboo terms or slurs.

1.3.4 - Leak personal or identifying information belonging to another member without their permission.

1.3.5 - Bully, harass, demean, or belittle another member, or their viewpoints, opinions, and ideas, for any reason.

1.3.6 - Troll, provoke, or bait our members into situations or conversations in which they feel forced to defend themselves or their views.

1.3.7 - Intentionally bypass word filters in place to prevent certain terms or words from being posted.

1.4 - When interacting with our services, you should always attempt to adhere to the below guidelines. They apply to all OOC services.

1.4.1 - Use common sense. Do not make irrelevant, unhelpful, or meaningless posts, especially when the potential to derail ongoing or clearly serious discussions is high.

1.4.2 - We ask that all our members refrain from creating or encouraging drama. If you have a personal issue with another user, use the DM function, or bring the issue to a member of the Staff Team via the ticket system.

1.4.3 - Do not spread lies or unconfirmed information about the Staff Team, other users or the project in order to cause unrest or drama.

1.4.4 - Do not spam. This includes spamming PMs, notifications, or votes.

1.4.5 - Swearing, while generally permitted, should still be kept civil, respectful, and non-excessive.

1.4.6 - Refrain from posting spoilers of any kind. If posting a spoiler, use the spoiler function. If not immediately obvious, warn users of the potential contents of your spoiler (e.g. the name of the piece of media your spoiler pertains to).

1.4.7 - The appropriate way to communicate with staff or report a player is to raise tickets on HoM Discord. Please do not tag staff members in Discord channels unless absolutely necessary.
Ticket transcripts might be disclosed to the public if deemed necessary.

1.5 - If you have been granted access to a private channel or a private HoM-affiliated Discord server (such as a Faction Discord or a staff channel), you must not leak the content from within these channels/servers.

1.6 - Do not advertise, excessively self-promote, share referral codes, exploit bugs, search for vulnerabilities, or otherwise disrupt the functionality of our services. Similarly, the posting of malicious code, programs or links is not allowed.

1.6.1 - Exemptions may be granted to our advertising rule on a case-by-case basis at Administrator+ discretion.

1.7 - Do not impersonate staff members while using HoM services, or attempt to imitate their likenesses (e.g. posting “warnings” or changing your discord bio, avatar, etc).

1.8 - Do not harbor or assist players who have received a permanent or extended ban on HoM services. If you knowingly come into contact with a banned player (e.g. using an alternate account), you are required to report them to a staff member.

1.9 - After posting an application (in order to whitelist, join the staff team or a Faction, etc), it is frowned upon to bother the reviewers of such applications to review your application(s). Please bear in mind that reviewers generally have more responsibilities than only reviewing applications.
Fair Play rules are designed to ensure all of our members play and roleplay fairly, with the interest of keeping the game fun and interesting for as many parties as possible. We do not tolerate an "us versus them" mentality out-of-character; we expect our players to play and roleplay with fairness and respect for the person on the other end of the screen.

2.1 - Recent (within the last year) VAC bans associated with your Steam account(s) may be taken into account upon undertaking our whitelist. We reserve the right to deny any user access to our community based solely on this factor.

2.2 - Cheating, hacking, or tampering with local/server files on the HoM servers, or any DayZ server, will result in an immediate and permanent ban from HoM services.

2.2.1 - The use of any 3rd party software to gain an advantage for yourself or over other players will not be tolerated in the slightest, This includes (but not limited to) any sort of Nvidia filters to see in the dark, Putting your gamma up to also see, Crosshairs to help you aim. Use of these will result in you receiving 5 Warning Points with a 5 Day Ban.

2.3 - You may not exploit bugs/glitches or abuse gameplay mechanics for any reason. This is referred to as “abuse of game mechanics” (AOGM). Examples include, but are not limited to:
● Loot cycling/farming;
● Duplication of items;
● Map bugs, walking thru objects that are missing collision;
● Placing objects (such as storage containers or a tent) inside impossible-to-reach areas, using them as indestructible cover, or using them to deny entry to a building or location, or;
● Using server or client instability to gain any unfair advantage in RP or combat that you would not normally have had (e.g. flanking enemies in a firefight, abandoning RP, or escaping your restraints because you logged in quicker than your captors).

2.4 - If you crashed or disconnected from ongoing RP/combat for a legitimate reason, you should make reasonable attempts to log back in. If you cannot do so, attempt to notify the individual(s) who you were RPing with either privately or publicly, using our Discord server.

2.4.1 - If you experience a server crash or restart during a firefight, you may continue fighting immediately after logging in, but must adhere to the “unfair advantage” example in rule 2.3.

2.5 - Always remember: this is just a game, and we expect all of our players to be able to differentiate between OOC and IC. Feuding with another character IC is never a reason to dislike or treat the individual playing that character differently OOC. The same rule also applies conversely; your OOC grievances are never a reason to target that person or treat them differently IC.

2.6 - Destroying the gameplay experience for other players by repeatedly killing them just because you can, or needlessly giving them a hard time over their transgressions against you without giving them any opportunity to redeem themselves is frowned upon. Whilst we understand there will always be rivalries and hostilities IC, you should always do your best to ensure that the game is fun for everyone, not just you.

2.7 - If you are on the receiving end of some hostilities, don’t be a sore loser, and always maintain separation of IC and OOC. Gear and items can always be replaced, and characters lost through a permadeath, whilst sometimes painful, can give you the opportunity to try something new, or may create RP for others following your character’s death.

2.8 - Do not interfere or get involved with node combat events unless you are directly involved in that conflict. Doing so ruins the experience for those who have planned and are participating in the event.

2.9 - Do not stream snipe streamers.
Roleplay rules apply primarily to IC roleplay happening within our game server(s), but contain considerations that must be acknowledged at an OOC level. Attaining high-quality roleplay is our top priority here at Hearts of Moscow and we expect our members to hold the same priority. In a conflict situation brought up for discussion, preference will be given subjectively from the point of view of assessing the role-play.

3.1 - There are only a few limitations regarding your character:
● You need to roleplay as a human being;
● Your character needs to be at least 18 years old;
● All characters must be, in some way, flawed, and adhere to acceptable limitations.

3.2 - We expect all our members to maintain a good quality of roleplay while playing on our servers. Failure to do this falls under the catch-all term “BadRP”. BadRP can be either intentional or unintentional; both breaks use the same term, but more lenient punishments will generally be applied to those inexperienced in RP. Players who should know better but continue to exhibit low RP quality out of choice will receive a standard punishment. Examples include, but are not limited to:
● Refusing or ignoring another player’s attempts to roleplay with you without a good IC reason to do so (such as believing you are about to be robbed);
● Consistently behaving inappropriately in a situation that call for seriousness, or;
● Refusing to roleplay appropriate levels of fear or pain. If you cannot roleplay pain vocally, use text to convey it. Excuses such as “my character was in the military and so is used to this”, or “my character cannot feel pain” will not be accepted.

The intention of the BadRP rule is not to punish players new to roleplay. We understand that this is just a game, and thus, roleplaying is just a hobby. We do, however, want to ensure roleplay quality within our servers is as high and as immersive as possible.

3.3 - You may not go OOC while in-game over voice communications. In emergency situations, or situations that require permissions or clarification, you may begin a text message within the server with either “OOC” or “.//” to signify your OOC communications. Going OOC through text is not intended for casual discussions of any kind. For example:
● Typing “.// AFK 3 minutes”, or “OOC I need to go soon” is acceptable.
● Saying “OOC I need to go AFK” is unacceptable.
● Typing “OOC did you see the new John Wick though?” is unacceptable.

3.4 - You must, at all times, value the life and general well-being of your character. Failing to do so is referred to as “no value for life” (NVFL). Do not place yourself into immediately fatal yet easily avoidable scenarios. Examples include, but are not limited to:
● Trying to win an open gunfight while being heavily outnumbered and/or outgunned;
● Excessively insulting your captors, or refusing to comply when noncompliance has a high chance of leading to your death;
● Attempting supreme feats of athleticism or parkour where risk far outweighs any benefits, or;
● Running into an ongoing firefight between two sides you have no affiliation with, especially with the intention of looting corpses.

Failure to value the life of your character, will result in your character’s permanent death (CK). If you defend yourself and survive the encounter, you will not be considered guilty of breaking this rule.

3.5 - You may not act in a trollish manner while in-character. Trolling can be differentiated from BadRP by looking at the intentions of a player’s actions; trolling is always intentional, is performed in order to elicit a negative reaction from another player for the “entertainment” of the troll, and is sometimes motivated by OOC reasons. Examples include, but are not limited to:
● Upsetting or annoying players for the sole reason of upsetting or annoying them;
● Shooting someone in the leg or knocking them unconscious without an IC reason to do so because you know it will frustrate them;
● Getting shot and running around in circles while saying “fuck you” or “your aim is garbage” repeatedly, and;
● Consistently being unnecessarily difficult or uncooperative towards your captors, such as talking extremely slowly to waste their time.
● Using Twitch memes or other internet gags excessively in roleplay.

3.6 - You may not metagame. Metagaming can be defined as “purposely using or relaying any information that your character did not learn or cannot otherwise know IC”. An example of this would be acting on any OOC information discovered via a live stream, Discord chat, or TeamSpeak channel. We ask that all our users take extreme care when considering what IC information to publicize, as metagaming can very easily be acted upon subconsciously.

3.6.1 - Whenever playing on the server, or if you are in-game using using a Radio you must use the IC Radio Frequency in Discord, you must always "Double-Mic". There should never be a time when you are not speaking in game, unless of course you are alone.
We suggest using the same push to talk button for both discord and dayz to improve your experience.

3.6.2 - If unconscious, restrained, dead, or in any other situation where it would be impossible to use your radio (such as having your hands up or your radio has been taken away via emote), you may not transmit any communications to anyone via the “IC Radio” function.

3.7 - You may not powergame. Powergaming can be defined as “forcing an action, reaction, condition, state, or attribute on another character without their written consent”. Written consent can be acquired by using OOC communications while in-game - e.g. “.// Do I have permission to permanently scar your character’s cheek with the word ‘RAT’?”. The opposing character has the choice to either grant or deny your request. Powergaming does not apply to injuries applied by in-game mechanics, such as firearms, melee weapons, fists, etc, where the victim has full control over the extent and effects of their injuries. Examples of this include:
● Permanently scarring another character, or removing a part of their body, such a finger;
● Force-feeding another character an item that will cause them negative effects (such as a disease or illness) and;
● Killing a player, and then bringing up the fact that they should be dead the next time you meet them.

We ask that our players think of creative and unique ways to punish or torture other characters. Any injuries you inflict should not be excessively debilitating (unless you have consent to do so), and should not seek to make a character “unplayable”. While all players have the option to decline such injuries, there should always be a reasonable amount of openness and negotiation to receiving an injury or scar. Repeatedly and unreasonably declining such injuries is not acceptable, and may be deemed BadRP if reported.

3.8 - If your character is killed but is not permadeathed, you are expected to use the New Life Rule (NLR). NLR seeks to avoid any awkward IC situations that may arise due to your character’s death. Upon respawning, the events that led up to your death, including the person/people responsible for your death, are not remembered.

3.8.1 - Returning to an active roleplay situation you died in is prohibited. If the situation has concluded, you may return to that location after 30 minutes of OOC time have elapsed.

3.8.2 - Returning to your body in order to retrieve your gear is not acceptable, at any time. If your friends manage to secure your gear, you may retrieve it when the cooldown timer on your dead character has elapsed.

3.9 - Erotic roleplay (ERP) is not allowed.
Hostilities are interactions where the lives, well-being, or property of you or those close to you are being threatened. Hostile actions are complicated; making sure that hostilities come off as roleplay-enriching instead of detrimental and mean-spirited should be the top priority of anyone seeking to engage in this type of behavior. However hostilities that do take place, will follow Metro Heart of Moscow's KoID system. The KoID system is a simple system, that mixes Initiation and Killing on Identification of an enemy "Faction". More specifically there is three levels of KoID, those three levels are Neutral, Enemy, and Allied.

4.1 - If you want to begin hostile actions against (and potentially gain the right to kill) another player or group of players that are identified as "Neutral" or "Allied" towards you, you must demonstrate your intentions to do so towards the opposing player(s) by distinguishing your intents via realistic means your character would do at the time also as known as initiation. The opposing side must be aware of the threat you are posing (ex. Aiming your weapon at someone and demanding they put their hands up or they will be shot, etc...).
● Demand must be relatively understandable. Examples are, verbally telling them a threat with guns present, aiming a weapon and threatening someone that is approaching a restricted area, threatening someone with death of some kind, pulling out a knife and demanding something, etc...
● A consequence should be obvious. Examples would be a group of thugs surround an individual with guns and knives and say "follow us or you are gonna die", saying with guns pointed "leave the area or you will be shot", etc...
● Assisting or participating with someone else's initiation in any way will include you in this situation. If you are just a bystander that is a bit too close, that is on you if you get hurt. (If the enemy knows you are involved in some way, they have the right to shoot you without giving you another warning. This could be you overwatching from afar or holding an exit to the situation.)
● Theft and vandalism of other people's property gives situational kill rights to the victim. (Note that it doesn’t have to end up in killing)
Players must act with Empathy in mind and not engage before other players can understand what is happening. Bad intent will be severely punished.

4.1.1 - If you want to begin hostile actions against (and potentially gain the right to kill) another player or group that are identified as "Enemy", then all you must do is identify that they are your "Enemy" via the chart below and then you have gained the rights to kill. It is suggested that before engaging an "Enemy" that you at least provide some level of announcement that you are about to engage. However keep in mind this is only suggested due to this being a Roleplay centric server. Kill rights can also be gained on any player involved with the said initiation and their accomplices. Additional kill rights can be shared between allies and enemies allies. Both parties leaving the area removes the kill rights. Kill Rights can be shared by allies who arrive at the scene within a reasonable timeframe (Up to each and every situation).

4.2 - Kill on Sight, or KoS, is strictly prohibited. KoS occurs when a player shoots another player entirely at random, without abiding by any of the rules laid out in this section of the rules.

4.2.1 - The "Kill on Sight, or KoS, is strictly prohibited" does not however apply to the Surface or the Frontline, refer to the Frontline section of rules, locations within the map.

4.3 - In the event that potentially lethal force is exchanged (a firefight or melee with the intent to kill), everyone associated with the initial initiation will have 1 hour of kill rights. This timer is reset every time potentially lethal force is exchanged again. Parties will have kill rights on characters who are willingly entering their combat zone or endangering them in some way (like being dangerously close to a combatant, or observing from a spot within the combat zone). Exception to this is when the engagement takes place in a key passage or a junction. In that case, bypassers need to adhere to the parties demands without getting dangerously close.

4.4 - If hostilities are initiated and both parties leave the situation amicably, all rights to use lethal force based on the initiation are void.

4.5 - Rights to lethal force does not give you explicit permission to use them at all times if it does not make in-character sense to do so.

4.6 - In the event that an initiation of a hostile action leads to you capturing and restraining another person, be it physically or through the threat of violence, that person has become your hostage. You must do everything in your power to keep them alive (unless you are able to execute them, as detailed in rule 4.8), however, you are otherwise permitted to treat your hostage however you wish. If you intend to release your hostage, you must leave them with a realistic chance of survival.

4.7 - Hostages can only be executed when it makes character sense. Examples are;
● Hostages do not comply with your demands.
● Hostages pose a direct and immediate threat to you or the rest of your party.
● Hostages do not value their life - for example, if they repeatedly talk back to you or insult you despite being told to stop.
● Hostages try to escape.
● If they are your faction's enemy, and you have given them a reasonable amount of roleplay before you shoot them. Similarly if you want to send a message to a certain group or player.
● Negotiations fail.
● If all criteria in section 6 have been fulfilled, hostages may be executed with the intent of Character Killing the hostage.
● If they fail more than one of these conditions, a Character Kill ticked can be filed.
● Factions can in certain scenarios avoid all these rules if they do seem fit for their roleplay.

4.8 - A reasonable standard of RP must be upheld in all hostile situations. Do not perform quick, run-of-the-mill robberies that involve little to no interaction with your victim. This works both ways - as a victim, you must participate in the RP with the initiating party, and act with value for your life.

4.8.1 - If you are robbing someone you must leave them with a way to defend themselves, a way to heal and a light source. If they do not have these items when you begin the robbery you do not need to give them to them.

4.9 - Combat logging/respawning, or logging out/respawning to avoid the consequences of someone else's rights to lethal force on your character, is strictly prohibited. After a situation involving lethal force has ended, you must remain in-game for at least 20 minutes. This rule can be ignored if the players involved in a situation give you permission to log out beforehand.
This rule also applies to PvE combat and Emissions.

4.10 - Baiting, or attempting to unreasonably provoke another player will be considered as bad intent and can be punished.

4.11 - Station, Outpost, and Hideout Hostilities:

You may not initiate or create hostilities inside of Prospect Mira, Darvinovskaya (Reich Main Station), or Lubyanka (Redline Main Station)
● However you are allowed initiate or create hostilities (more specifically capturing someone, robbing someone, etc.) inside of Major Faction Secondary Station(s) and Minor Faction Stations [However Reich, Redline, and Hanza may not engage in such acts unless they are Raiding or Assaulting said Stations | More specifically those who can initiate or create said hostilities is bandit groups, dwellers, minor factions, etc.]
● If initiated on within any station you may defend yourself however keep all levels of rule 3.4 in mind

4.11.1 - Station, Outpost, & Hideout Raids/Destruction:

Each Major/Minor Faction starts every week with a total of 5 points:
● Outpost/Hideout Raids Cost 1 Point
● Outpost Destructions Cost 2 Points
● Station Raids Cost 3 Points
● Station Destructions Cost 5 Points

Factions may do a station attack once per week. They must first open a ticket to confirm that there are defenders currently online for the station they wish to attack.

When a Major/Minor Faction Station is destroyed it will be unusable for 1 week.
When a Major/Minor Faction Outpost is destroyed it will be wiped off the map.

Dweller Hideouts can not be destroyed unless they are in Metro 2
● Dweller Hideouts outside of Metro 2 can only be raided.

The Д-3 Contingent can only Raid/Destroy Surface Outposts/Hideouts or Metro 2 Outposts/Hideouts.
Dwellers have the ability to create Factions on the server through the Outpost/Station takeover system. Once becoming a Minor Faction you can then be approved by the Head of Factions to become a Main Faction on the server.

Metro In-Game Development:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Tw120WRC5VqqL4q2saxscjGrxUjGIQspO93G-hOXvDE/edit?usp=sharing

5.1 - All the Rules which apply to Metro Citizens also apply to faction members unless directly stated otherwise. All factions are held to a high standard of roleplay. Any faction member can be removed from the faction by staff if there is a substantial rulebreak or for any other reason the staff team dictates.

5.2 - After being removed from a faction, users will receive a three week long cooldown from joining any faction.

5.2.1 - This time might be altered if doing so adds depth to the characters and the servers lore and RP.

5.3 - Faction members must behave in a manner that is realistic to the faction they are representing. This does not only mean maintaining a high quality of roleplay but also maintaining consistency with the portrayal of the faction’s ideologies and relations.

5.3.1 - We do recognize that this is an organic roleplay server and sometimes events transpire that may cause factions to diverge in direction from their source material. In such cases making a ticket to discuss either a change in faction direction or a course of action that would be atypical of the faction would be appropriate. Once the discussion has been had by the faction management team, the Head of Factions will make a ruling either allowing the change or vetoing it. (Ex : Faction members wishing to coup d'etat a faction leader from power, The Red Line looking for a temporary ceasefire with The Reich.)

5.4 - Do not be afraid to act in ways your character should in certain situations. Do not lose your immersion to think if you can do something or not. We are all here to enjoy our characters and the stories they create, but that doesn't mean you are above the character that is on the other side. Empathy is the keyword here. Bad intent in this case won't have tolerance. We are all adults here to play our game.

5.5 - Excessive racism and in character discrimination won't be allowed to happen if it doesn't fit your character current decision, if reported this will be decided case by case.

Note: Try to always stick to twitch guidelines if you are unsure how to act.

Recruitment

5.6 - Faction leadership is placed in charge of recruitment for their faction. All recruitment is to be done through Roleplay. The process of invitation will vary faction to faction.

5.7 - New character recruitment may only occur if the current character that will join is already on good terms and does anything he/she needs to in order to join, in that case it is allowed to create a new character that starts from the faction in question.

5.8 - Faction members may leave the faction at anytime if doing so doesn't directly harm it. After leaving a faction you must wait 21 days before you are able to join another faction.

5.9 - You must contact your faction leader to talk about your reasons so it can be best arranged, only exception to this is if you want to desert then you have to make a Faction related ticket.

5.10 - When leaving or joining the faction you must have a good IC reason why your character wants to achieve that.

Clothing

5.11 - Faction members are required to wear approved faction clothing and uniforms.

5.12 - Unauthorized Factions may not go Undercover.

Leadership

5.13 - Factions are required to have at least two people in leadership. These two people may also choose to bring others into faction leadership. Faction Leaders are responsible for maintaining the high level of RP expected of faction members.

5.14 - Faction leaders may excommunicate others from the faction; this can only be done through RP.

5.15 - You are not allowed to dodge this by OOC means that could be but not limited to; Not logging on. If you are seen doing this in bad intent, you will be banned from joining any other factions.

5.16 - Real life happens and we do not expect you to be on all of your time, if such a scenario happens in a bad time such as when you are to be excommunicated, let us know to avoid the penalty.

5.17 - Major & Minor Faction Station(s) and Outpost(s) Limitations
-Please review the google documnet.
6.1 - The Frontline is KOS between Redline & Reich at all times. In addition to this rule, Dwellers and Factions that aren’t the Reich or Redline that are found on the Frontline can be KoS’d/KoID (Kill on Identification). The Frontline is meant to be the place where the Redline and the Reich consistently fight to the death with no foreseeable end; those who choose to travel through this territory risk death.

6.2 - At 2pm EST to 3pm EST | 6pm GMT to 7pm GMT on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday the Frontline is to be attended to by both the Reich and the Redline.

6.3 - During the Allotted Combat times on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday the NLR timer to return to the Frontline will be reduced to 15 Minutes.

6.4 - The frontline is supposed to be a constant threat and active warzone due to this it will be a KOS area for both Redline and Reich. Reich and Redline should not cross to each others side as it's realistically meant to be garrisoned at all times. Entering this area will be at your own risk and any tickets made due to death within this area will not be entertained.

6.5 - Redline Conscripts may attend the Frontline Allotted Combat times but the cap is set at 10 Conscripts. This is in addition to the already existing attending Redline members.

6.6 - Reich Adv. Militia may attend the Frontline Alloted Combat times but the cap is set to 5 Adv. Militia. This is in addition to the already existing attending Reich members.

6.7 - To start this 1 hour conflict on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday both sides will require at least 8-10 attendees, this includes Conscripts or Adv. Militia.

6.8 - The Victors of the 1 hour conflict on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday will have at the end of the 1 hour conflict 30 minutes to loot and leave.

6.9 - Victory Conditions will be decided or changed from attrition on the day of the 1 hour conflicts if necessary. This means the standard objective type is to kill all opponents on the opposite side by the end of the 1 hour or it is declared a tie.

6.10 - If the Victory condition is Attrition (killing all of the other side), within the last 20 minutes of the 1 hour conflict on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday you may attempt to push to the other side and kill all the remaining opponents.

6.11 - Lethal Grenades are limited to only 5 per side.
Character kills (CKs) are a mechanic used to achieve multiple goals. Firstly, CKs serve to keep stories constantly moving forwards, and prevent them from stagnating when they reach an impasse. Secondly, the threat of CKs are intended to provide realistic and harsh consequences to situations that normally result in, at most, the player simply respawning, regearing, and repeating their actions.

7.1 - If you get a Character killed you will lose access to the game server for 24 hours. You will need to make a completely new character that is not related to the character that just got CK’d in anyway. The 24 hour cooldown may be voided during the CK ticket process on a case by case basis.

7.2 - Permanent character death can be self-administered at any time, for any reason, or for no reason at all, by the character's owner via the ticket system.

7.3 - Permanent character death is mandated under certain scenarios:
● RPed out suicide, or suicide in a public area.
● Deaths that are classified as No Value For Life.
● Executions with storylines.

7.4 - There are two types of permanent kills that a player can request against another character - Proactive CKs and Reactive CKs.

7.5 - Proactive CKs are submitted and approved before a hostile situation that would end in the death of a character. These CKs are submitted in cases where it makes sense to kill another player's character for the sake of advancing the greater narrative of the community, and all other avenues of roleplay to solve a dispute have been exhausted.

7.5.1 - Your character must obtain a valid IC reason to kill another character. This reason must serve a substantial purpose; it should be more than simply ‘getting rid of’ someone. What does, and what does not constitute a valid in-character reason is entirely subjective based upon all circumstances and characters involved in any given situation.

The questions below may be useful in deciding whether or not you have a valid IC reason to CK another character:
● Does your target’s prior actions or behavior warrant their permanent death?
● Is your behavior proportionate to the amount of harm or potential harm they have caused, or could/will cause towards you?
● If you are able, have you attempted to resolve the situation at hand by other means prior to seeking a CK?

If your answer to all of the above questions is “yes”, then your reasoning is likely valid. You may also wish to consider how you would feel if the situation at hand was reversed unto you - if you were in your target’s shoes, would the CK make sense? Would it be a fair conclusion to your story?

The most common situations that may put a character at risk of CK are:
● Exercising unprovoked robberies as a Dweller;
● Being found to be a spy or a snitch, especially if already confronted and told to stop;
● Being killed while actively attacking another character with the intent to Character Kill them;
● Leaving the Faction with a bad standing or acting against its ideology, goals or interests as a member;
● Extensive harassment of your character or your group;
● Strangers being caught dressed up in your faction’s uniform.

Being a member of a faction you’re at war with is not a valid CK reason!

7.5.2 - Upon approval of the Proactive CK application, a player must either capture and execute the approved character or kill the approved character in a firefight in order for the CK to be valid, or hire the official “Mercenaries” faction to do so. Staff should be notified in the same ticket that the death of either themselves or the approved character has taken place.

7.5.3 - A Proactive CK works both ways. Upon approval of a Proactive CK application, the character that has been approved for CK also unwittingly gains CK rights on the character of the submitter of the CK application.

7.6 - Reactive CKs are submitted and approved after a hostile situation that has ended in the death of a character. These CKs are used usually in the case of a hostage that has gotten themselves killed due to their own actions, NVFL, or in other niche scenarios in which a Reactive CK would make sense for the greater narrative of the community.

7.6.1 - Reactive CKs must be submitted within 2 hours of the time of the death of the character that they wish to CK in order to be considered.

7.6.2 - In order for staff to approve a Reactive CK application, a player must explain the roleplay situation that ended in the death of the character they wish to CK, as well as submit video evidence that the situation necessitates a CK. CK applications are approved or denied based purely on staff discretion, based on the provided evidence.

7.6.3 - Upon approval of the Reactive CK application, the approved character will be CKed immediately.

7.7 - All CKs must be conducted fully within the rules, and without any ulterior or OOC motives present. In other words, keep it clean, and keep it IC.

7.8 - The IC reasoning behind a CK cannot be revealed OOC to the target by any involved party until after the CK has been accepted and administered by staff.

7.9 - Players who consistently get or try to get other players CKed for inadequate reasons may receive warning points and/or bans. Always remember: CKs should be your last resort.

7.10 - CKs can be appealed up to one week after being CKed. The recipient of the CK must submit evidence that their character was wrongfully or prematurely CKed. CK appeals are approved or denied based purely on staff discretion, based on the provided evidence.

Disclaimer: We are going for our own creative version of the Metro universe in Dayz, we are VERY FOCUSED in Roleplay and some of you for the most part will stay as Civilians for most of your time in the server, combat will be part of the server obviously, but be prepared to enter the Metro as whatever you may become as your character story is your own to make, may that be in the ground, a free man or dying for your beliefs.
If you believe that the RP situation was played out with a violation, then you have the right to file a complaint against the group or a player. Remember, roleplay first - report later. All of the rulebreak tickets need to be reviewed and signed by at least 2 different staff members. Every player has the right to defend themselves in a report ticket. You can appeal your bans and points via the ticket system.
This section of the rules was made to ensure fair and equal treatment of all players when it comes to rulebreaks.

During normal bans you lose access to the game server, when it comes to Extended Bans of 90 days and permanent bans you can also lose access to the Discord server. Rulebreaks that are not listed above will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

The only ways to reduce your warning points is by performing Community Helper duties or submitting accurate bug reports. The amount of points reduced is based purely on staff discretion.
